Victorian Burr Walnut Marquetry Centre Table

Item Code: LC1457

A highly decorative Victorian burr walnut and marquetry centre table, featuring a richly figured circular top above a substantial carved pedestal base.

The top is particularly attractive, centred with beautifully figured burr walnut veneers and extensively decorated with finely worked floral marquetry. A broad continuous band of scrolling flowers and foliage surrounds the centre, with further floral decoration to the central roundel and contrasting segmented veneers around the outer edge.

The table is raised on a substantial turned and carved central pedestal, terminating in four boldly shaped scrolling legs with carved detail. The combination of richly figured walnut, intricate marquetry and the sculptural pedestal base gives the table considerable presence.

Unlike many tables of this form, the top is fixed and does not tilt.

A very decorative Victorian centre table that would make an impressive focal point within a drawing room, entrance hall or large reception room.
