Description
An elegant early 20th century carved walnut extending dining table of generous proportions, standing on finely carved cabriole legs terminating in bold claw and ball feet. The table displays a beautifully figured walnut top with rounded corners, framed by a crisply carved foliate moulded edge that continues around the entire perimeter.
The shaped frieze is supported by richly carved knees featuring acanthus shells, scrolls and floral roundels, demonstrating excellent quality craftsmanship throughout. The table extends by means of a smooth pull-apart action and is supplied with a single additional leaf, allowing it to comfortably seat six to eight people when extended while remaining an ideal size for everyday use when closed.
