Description

charming Staffordshire Pearlware Model of the Medici Lion circa 1820.

This is an extremely rare find being in perfect condition with no damage or restoration which is becoming almost unheard of these days with these early pieces.

The lion is beautifully modelled and hand painted in coloured enamels and raised on a naturalistic mound base.

The figure measures 10cm high ..cms deep by in length.

This nineteenth-century Staffordshire pearlware ceramic figure represents a Medici lion in a Georgian style.
