This is a Georgian-era silkwork/woolwork embroidery, likely depicting the "Flight into Egypt".It features hand-stitched silk thread/wool on a silk ground, with some faces or backgrounds potentially painted. The artwork is housed in a traditional giltwood frame with an eglomisé (painted glass) mat border.

An embroidered "Flight into Egypt" typically depicts Mary, Joseph, and the infant Jesus fleeing Bethlehem.
