A super quality rosewood card table of unusually small proportions attributed to gillows and dating around 1830. The table has a superb rich patina and colour and is in good condition, the edges of the fold over top are decorated with turned-split bobbin or bead mouldings, which continues further down the table in various different designs. The top turns to reveal a games well, where you can keep your card games, the top then folds over to reveal the green felt inset which is in good order with only a few minor blemishes. The base has broad splayed legs decorated with carved foliate scrolls , these support the central column which is almost designed around the base and mid section of an obelisk. This is a stunning little table and although it is not stamped Gillows, it certainly has all of his hallmarks in design.
