Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency card table is a style of English furniture produced during the early 19th century, designed with a swivel fold-over top that opens to reveal a surface intended for playing card games. When closed, the table served as a console or tea table placed along the perimeter of a room.

Regency card tables were predominantly crafted from dense hardwoods such as rosewood and mahogany, often featuring brass castors, baize playing surfaces, and carved support structures. Timber cut during this era features rich grain configurations and deep, natural patination.

Authentic pieces from this period exhibit period joinery, including hand-cut dovetails within internal wells, original swivel mechanisms, and heavy brass castors. Look for characteristic design hallmarks such as central turned or faceted pedestals, carved aprons, and quadripartite platform bases.

Position the table folded shut against a hallway wall or behind a sofa to function as a compact console table. Layering contemporary artwork above the table or staging it with minimalist ceramics creates a balanced contrast between historical craft and modern aesthetics.

Dust the timber surface regularly with a soft, dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish occasionally to preserve the wood grain and finish. Keep the piece away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent drying, warping, or fading of the rosewood finish.
