This is a taxidermy mount of a bat, specifically a pipistrellus pipistrellus, dating back to circa 1870. This is a unique and intriguing collectable piece originating from the United Kingdom. The full mount adult is modelled with outstretched wings in flying pose set against ebonised fauna, enclosed beneath a later circular glass dome on ebonised base with animal bones displayed to create a really Gothic scene. A fascinating piece of natural history from the Victorian era. 

This has a diameter of 20cm and overall height of 32 cm.
