Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Art Deco coffee table from 1930 is fashioned from light brown bleached walnut with a fitted glass top insert. The rectangular top rests above a heavily carved apron decorated with continuous floral or leaf motifs running along the perimeter of the frieze. Four prominent cabriole legs curve outward and downward, terminating in detailed ball and claw feet. The exposed timber displays a warm golden-honey tone across its grain, highlighting the organic patterns in the wood. The practical dimensions measure 48 cm high, 85 cm wide, and 49 cm deep. Position this low occasional table in a living room, reception space, or entertaining area as a central surface for drinks, books, or decorative objects. The combination of carved wooden detail and clean glass insert suits both vintage-inspired interiors and contemporary rooms seeking a touch of traditional craftsmanship.

FAQs

During the 1930s Art Deco period, cabinetmakers frequently bleached native and imported hardwoods such as walnut to achieve lighter tones while preserving natural timber grain patterns.

These tables commonly feature solid walnut frames, burr walnut veneers, and carved aprons, often fitted with protective glass tops to safeguard the wooden surface.

Authentic pieces display traditional joinery, such as hand-cut dovetails and solid timber sub-frames, combined with era-specific motifs including stylised carved aprons and cabriole legs.

Position the table centrally within a seating area to provide warmth and texture alongside neutral linen upholstery, natural stone elements, and low-profile sofas.

Clean the removable glass insert using a soft cloth and dedicated glass cleaner, while dusting the underlying carved walnut frame with a microfibre cloth and applying natural beeswax periodically.
