Rare Gravity Fed Flick Out Sword Stick

Description

Rare and unusual19th century gravity sword stick with dagger like blade in the handle, the shaft is probably hawthorn or similar hedgerow wood with a small brass trapdoor in the handle. When the stick is held by the middle and flicked sharply the 13 cm stiletto type blade flies out and locks in position it is returned to its sheath by depressing the side spring and pushing back in. All in good condition small chip near the ferrule
