Very Fine Early 19th Century Regency Period Mahogany Adjustable Folding Duet Music Stand A fine quality early 19th-century Regency period folding mahogany duet music stand, in excellent original condition. The stand features twin book-rest panels, latticework struts and brass pageholders. The bookrests fold out to support music on either side, allowing two musicians to play a duet. The fold-out bookrests are held in place by a support that pivots on the central column, and the panels fold flat for storage and transport. Below, the stand has a turned, reeded column incorporating a notched brass height adjustment mechanism. The height can be adjusted by holding down a lever on the side of the column; releasing the lever locks the mechanism again once it has engaged with another notch.
