This Edwardian oak hall stand dates from the early 20th century, executed in a medium brown timber finish in an English Country house style. The construction incorporates turned front legs, an arched backboard above a hinged lidded glove compartment with a decorative circular brass handle, flanked by two curved umbrella rails and supported by a lower drip shelf. Measuring 89 cm high by 90 cm wide and 26 cm deep, the piece is structurally solid throughout. Positioned beside the front door, this practical item serves as an organized drop-zone for gloves, keys, and walking sticks in a hallway or entryway. The clean proportions and traditional styling suit period properties and country interiors alike, providing functional storage for everyday outerwear essentials.

An Edwardian oak hall stand is a compact entryway storage unit crafted during the early twentieth century, designed to store umbrellas, walking sticks, and small daily items such as gloves.

These stands were predominantly constructed using solid oak, walnut, or mahogany, often featuring brass fittings, cast metal drip pans, and turned wooden supports.

Authentic pieces exhibit traditional mortise and tenon joinery, natural grain variations, aged surfaces on lower shelves, and original brass hardware with natural patination.

Position the hall stand near a front door or along a narrow hallway to provide functional storage for walking sticks while adding a period focal point to the space.

Dust the woodwork regularly with a dry cloth, apply beeswax polish along the grain periodically, and wipe away standing water promptly to protect the timber finish.
