Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Art Deco lazy Susan tazza is a functional and decorative item of serveware dating from 1920. Formed from oak, the piece has a dark brown finish with a visible wood grain and a smooth, polished sheen. The design comprises a circular tray top featuring a scalloped rim, a revolving mechanism, and a central column supported by a turned pedestal base resting upon a circular foot. Subtle surface variations and natural tones show the inherent characteristics of the timber. Practical for everyday use or entertaining, this revolving platter stands at 15 cm high and 30 cm wide. It functions well as a dining table center or a display piece on a sideboard for serving cheeses, canapés, or small cakes. The smooth turning action allows easy sharing among guests during meals or gatherings in a dining room, kitchen, or living space.

FAQs

A tazza is a wide, shallow dish raised on a pedestal, crafted during the Art Deco movement to serve fruit or cakes while incorporating streamlined turnings or geometric rim details.

Solid hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, and walnut were typically turned on a lathe to form the central pedestal base, with the upper dish joined securely to the foot.

Authentic period examples display clean turned profiles, subtle geometric or scalloped edge moulding, and authentic hand-lathed tool marks or vintage rotation mechanisms.

A wooden tazza functions well as a table centrepiece for displaying fruit or decorative items, introducing vertical interest to sideboards and dining surfaces.

Dust the timber surface regularly with a dry cloth, avoid water immersion, and apply natural beeswax sparingly to preserve the original wood finish.
