A lovely antique desktop inkstand dating from the late 19th Century. It is made of oak with silver plated mounts on the edges and corners and a silver plated carrying handle. It has two recessed pen trays on the top and two large glass inkwells with hinged silver plated tops. It also has a drawer in the base with two silver plated knobs and plaque. The plaque has never been engraved and would suit an inscription if desired. It stands on four small bun feet.It is in very good condition throughout and although it has been used it has been well looked after over the years. There are some small signs of age and use, a few minor knocks and marks but nothing detrimental or untoward. There are a couple of small chips on the glass inkwells but no major damages and the hinges are in good order.
