Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Nineteenth-century textiles from Central Asia, such as those from Uzbekistan and the Karakalpak region, were crafted as ceremonial garments for weddings and important tribal rituals, often symbolising status, protection, and fertility within the community.

These pieces typically combine hand-woven silk ikat fabrics with intricate surface embroidery using cotton or silk threads, often finished with decorative wool or silk fringing and applied borders.

Authentication involves examining the natural dye composition, the irregularities characteristic of hand-spun and hand-woven threads, the specific stitch types used in the embroidery, and the natural ageing of the silk and backing materials.

Such textiles are frequently mounted behind conservation-grade glass and framed as statement wall art, allowing their intricate patterns and colours to serve as a focal point in a living space or study.

Historic textiles should be kept out of direct sunlight to prevent dye fading, displayed away from high humidity or heat sources, and supported evenly if mounted to avoid placing stress on aged fibres.
