Pretty antique Victorian large Staffordshire figure of a couple in a seated position, the gentleman wearing traditional Scottish highland attire including a tartan kilt, sash and feathered bonnet holding bagpipes with the lady seated beside him in a long plaid patterned dress above a clock surrounded by a wreath of leaves and flowers above an oval shaped gilded base, hand painted in beautiful white, green, pink, orange and brown colours.

Staffordshire figures were mass-produced earthenware ornaments created in Staffordshire, England, during the 19th century. Designed primarily for working and middle-class homes, these press-moulded figures depicted popular figures, folk scenes, animals, and theatrical characters for display on fireplace mantelpieces.
