Charming Pair of Early 19th Century Silkwork Pictures Embroidery

Description

These Georgian silk embroideries are a delightful pair in very nice original condition, beautifully presented in their original period gilt frames with gilded verre eglomise mounts.

The embroideries depict a young girl in rural setting holding a basket of grapes and a young boy on a stately home estate in a red dress and in red shoes, holding a large brimmed hat.

The colours in both are a real delight and both are really charming.

Great condition for their age, circa 1800 with only some slight deterioration to the backing silk on the girl embroidery as shown.

These measure 43 cms by 38 cms overall including the frame.
