Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Around 1900, architectural glass transitioned from heavy Victorian Gothic revival to lighter Edwardian and Art Nouveau aesthetics. Windows from this era frequently featured clear textured background glass accented with hand-painted floral motifs, graceful ribbon swags, and glass bullseyes.

These panels were constructed using hand-cut clear and coloured glass held together by H-shaped lead strips known as cames. Hand-painted details, such as flowers and ribbons, were applied using vitreous enamel paints that were fired in a kiln to permanently fuse with the glass.

Authentic period leaded glass exhibits minor irregularities in the glass thickness, subtle air bubbles, and natural oxidation on the lead cames. Hand-painted enamels from this period show painterly brushstrokes and gentle wear consistent with age, rather than modern uniform screen printing.

Leaded glass panels can be suspended in front of existing double-glazed windows as light-capturing suncatchers, integrated into internal wooden doors, or built into custom timber room dividers to allow light transfer while maintaining privacy.

Clean gently using a dry, soft microfibre cloth or a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from the lead lines. Avoid harsh chemical sprays, ammonia, or excessive water, which can degrade old solder joints and strip aged patination from the lead.
