Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Victorian duet music stand is a dual-sided lectern or rest designed during the 19th century to allow two musicians or readers to share a single stand simultaneously. These items were frequently crafted with decorative motifs such as lyres, fretwork, or turned supports.

19th-century music stands and lecterns were primarily crafted from dense hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or walnut. Internal structural rods, height-adjustment mechanisms, and decorative accent fittings were commonly produced using brass or iron.

Authentic period pieces exhibit age-appropriate oxidisation of the wood, natural wear along handling surfaces, hand-carved decorative elements, and original mechanical components such as threaded brass rods or iron ratchets rather than modern screws.

An antique duet stand functions effectively as a sculptural accent on a sideboard, grand piano, or study desk. It can be utilised to display art books, open manuscripts, or botanical prints within traditional and eclectic interior schemes.

Oak items should be dusted regularly using a soft, dry lint-free cloth. Periodic application of a high-quality beeswax polish helps maintain timber hydration, while placement away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight prevents shrinkage and warping.
