Large Scale 19th Century Carved Wood Stag's Head.

This interesting piece retains its original paint work and was made in the Black Forest area of Germany and Switzerland in the late 19th century. The piece takes the form of a game trophy, a stag's head with fine antlers is mounted on a wooden shield with gilded highlights. The whole piece is of large country house scale and has been finely carved throughout.

This is a lovely piece of country house decoration that is sure to be a talking point in any interior.
