Large Pair of 17th c. Chinese Carved Wooden Corbels
Lovely and rare pair of Chinese wood carved corbels from the 17th century, late Ming/early Qing.
The large corbels (which holding the main beam at the entrance of a house) depicting figures, one with bow and arrow on horseback
with their servants of which one holds a shield with a phoenix (if it was used to decorated a house it symbolized that loyalty and honesty
were in the people that lived there).
The large wooden corbels have minute faint residue of the original paint.
The corbels have some slight damage due to it age.
