An 8'''' Bacons excelsior globe. Late 1930''s (shows Siam ). A heavy plaster detailed globe of good colour and patina. Brass meridian with its correct fittings. Turned mahogany base. Very few age related marks save for a small blemish in the Soviet Union Siberian area (see last and 5th from last photo). Overall a well proportioned and attractive piece. Plaster globes are heavier and more stable than papier mache globes of the same period.
8'''' diameter globe 20.3 cm
Overall 33 cm high and 24 cm max wide.
Base diameter 17 cm
