Early C19th Regency period Irish carved mahogany cellarette.
Of tapering sarcophagus form with heavily carved acanthus leaf detail to the lid edge and upright edges together with carved gadrooned and ‘rope-twist’ mouldings . The panelled top hinged lid revealing a divided compartment interior for bottle and decanter storage .
The panelled sides fitted with brass lion’s mask ring handles , the panelled front with an oval brass escutcheon plate having a brass lock and original key .
Raised on a central turned column support with reeded and leaf-carved quadrupite ‘hipped’ sabre-type legs fitted with original reeded brass box-toe castors .
In excellent original condition with a rich colour and patina to the flame mahogany.
