Mounted on polished oak shield with ivorine plaque to front "Saighton Jan 16th 1952". The rear of shield embossed “P Spicer & Sons Taxidermists Leamington” plus Spicers four-digit serial/stock book number 5926.

For more information on this remarkable Victorian Taxidermy firm who has never been surpassed in the modelling of fox masks, see “A Record of Spicer’s” a book covering the history of this famous firm privately published by myself back in 2001.
