Puckerings has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The underside is a joy, marked wherever you look.
March 14th 1868 together with the English design registration diamond mark, which equates to March 7th 1868. It also has some written numbers and letters probably created by the retailer including the date 1885 which is probably the date when this piece was originally sold.

The base and strike to the top are made from cast English brass and the bell of bell metal creating a pretty but authoritative ring.
Superb polished condition measuring 5" max in diameter x 4" tall.
