A beautiful example of an early 20th century painted metal general purpose set of storage shelves. It has five slatted shelves, folding sides comprised of simple uprights on bulbous feet, surmounted by a decoratively scrolling galleried top. This incredibly useful storage rack, possibly used originally to display bread in a bakery, can be used in the kitchen, or as a shoe rack in a hallway or bedroom. It dates from c.1920s.
