Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This 19th-century Chinese Famille Rose porcelain figure portrays an exotic pheasant perched upon a textured rockwork base in the Qing Dynasty style. The bird displays a crested head, a dark hooked beak, a round eye encircled by golden linework, and a pale pink breast. Its upper body and tail feature hand-painted multicolored plumage with feather detailing in shades of blue, green, and pink. The base is modelled as a tree stump with pierced apertures and small orange-brown fungus motifs interspersed among vertical glaze lines. Measuring 56 cm high by 26 cm wide and 21 cm deep, the porcelain sculpture stands securely on flat surfaces. This decorative figure suits placement on a sideboard top or console table in a maximalist wonderland interior setting to add colour and texture to a living room, hallway, or dining space.

FAQs

Famille Rose refers to a group of Chinese export porcelain characterised by opaque pink enamels derived from gold, introduced during the 18th century Qing dynasty and popularised across subsequent export markets.

These figures were hand-moulded or press-moulded from white porcelain clay, fired at high temperatures, and subsequently decorated with overglaze enamels before undergoing a secondary lower-temperature kiln firing.

Authentic pieces feature hand-applied enamels with tactile depth, slight irregularities in glaze surface, unglazed foot rims showing age-related discoloration, and characteristic Qing dynasty colour palettes.

Position the sculpture as a focal accent on a sideboard, console table, or deep window sill, pairing it with neutral backgrounds or dark timber surfaces to emphasize its coloured glaze profile.

Dust the surface gently using a dry, soft-bristled brush or microfibre cloth, avoiding water immersion or chemical solvents that could compromise delicate overglaze enamel detailing.
