Description

A 10'' terrestrial globe by Geographia. This one can be dated to 1928/30 as it shows Constantinopole which was renamed Istanbul in 1930. It also shows Peking which was named such in 1930. The globe is mounted on its ORIGINAL trifoil mahogany base which has the correct turned column which supports the brass meridian. The trifoil base was superceeded by a later turned circular base which is much more common. The detail on the globe is good as is the patina and colour. There are however age related scuffs and areas of wear so please examine the photographs which depict these. There are no dents and the globe rotates well. It has the correct top and bottom brass fittings.

49 cm high ,27 cm wide at the globe centre and about 24 cm across the trifoil base.
