In a contemporary home, this English Country House style item suits placement in an empty corner as an accent furniture piece or functional surface. FAQs

A foldover card table is a piece of occasional furniture designed with a hinged top that unfolds to double its surface area, traditionally used for playing card games or serving tea.

Georgian foldover tables were predominantly constructed using solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, often featuring brass hinges, brass handle pulls, and secondary woods such as pine or oak for drawer linings.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, original brass fold-out hinges, realistic wear on foot terminals such as claw and ball feet, and characteristic wood shrinkage along structural elements.

Position the table against a wall as a console or side table when folded, styling the top with framed artwork or ceramic vessels, and unfold it when additional surface space is required.

Maintain mahogany furniture by dusting with a soft, lint-free cloth and applying beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year, ensuring it is kept away from direct sunlight and central heat sources.
