We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Delft chargers are large tin-glazed earthenware plates produced primarily during the 17th and 18th centuries in centres such as Delft in the Netherlands and various English kilns, often intended for decorative display rather than dining.

Delftware is typically fashioned from a buff or pinkish earthenware clay body, coated with an opaque white tin glaze that provides a smooth canvas, and hand-painted with metallic oxide pigments before being fired.

Authentic pieces often exhibit characteristic crazing, kiln spurs or stilt marks on the reverse, minor glaze flakes along the rim revealing the porous clay body beneath, and hand-painted brushwork that lacks the uniformity of modern printing.

These chargers can be mounted on a wall using specialized plate hangers or displayed upright on a wooden mantelpiece or open shelving unit to introduce historical texture and pattern to contemporary spaces.

To preserve the fragile tin glaze and prevent further chipping along the edges, pieces should be kept away from excessive moisture, washed only by hand with mild soap when necessary, and never placed in a dishwasher.
