We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Adam style, popularised by the Adam brothers in the 18th century, draws heavily on classical Roman architecture, featuring symmetrical designs, delicate ornamentation such as paterae and fluting, and slender proportions.

Georgian console tables were predominantly crafted from dense hardwoods like solid mahogany or oak, often incorporating fine veneers, secondary woods such as pine or deal for secondary framing, and sometimes marble or scagliola tops.

Authenticity is assessed by examining construction methods, such as hand-cut dovetails, traditional joinery, timber shrinkage, tool marks, oxidisation consistent with age, and the quality of the hand-carved decorative motifs.

Antique console tables add architectural interest and historical contrast to modern interiors when paired with minimalist contemporary lighting, abstract art, or placed against clean, neutral walls.

Preservation involves maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent fading, dusting regularly with a dry lint-free cloth, and periodically applying traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone polishes.
