FAQs

The Gothic Revival movement, prominent during the 19th century, drew inspiration from medieval architecture and design, reinterpreting motifs such as pointed arches and quatrefoils for domestic furnishings.

These pieces were typically constructed from dense hardwoods like oak or walnut, featuring mortise and tenon joinery, hand-carved architectural details, and robust trestle or pedestal bases.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate tool marks, hand-cut joinery, natural timber ageing, and historically accurate medieval architectural motifs rather than modern machine-pressed appliques.

Pair the dark wood and architectural lines with minimalist contemporary decor, neutral walls, and sleek metallic accents to create a balanced, curated aesthetic that highlights the pieces craftsmanship.

Maintain antique wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and applying natural beeswax periodically to nourish the finish.
