This Art Deco serving tray from the 1930s combines a polished chrome frame with a mirrored glass surface and a contrasting black centre. The rectangular piece incorporates a macassar ebony panel beneath each of the two curved carrying handles, which are secured with detailed finials. The wooden back bears the maker's mark reading 'Regent of London Made in England'. Overall measurements are 6.5 cm high, 24.7 cm wide, and 36.4 cm deep. Suitable for display on a sideboard top, the tray serves as a functional and decorative accessory within a modern home. Its streamlined profile and geometric framed border complement various interior styles while providing a practical surface for serving beverages or holding small decorative items.

Art Deco barware from the 1920s and 1930s is characterised by geometric shapes, clean lines, and symmetrical motifs. Design elements frequently incorporate streamlined metallic components paired with contrasting glass or early synthetic surfaces.

Trays from this era commonly utilized polished chrome, nickel, brass, Bakelite, and reverse-painted or frosted glass. Frame construction relied on joined metal borders and tubular or arched metal handles attached to rigid structural bases.

Authentic pieces exhibit construction details typical of early 20th-century manufacturing, such as slotted screw fastenings, solid cast or bent metal handles, and natural surface patination or light oxidation on non-exposed metal joins.

An Art Deco tray can be placed on a sideboard, coffee table, or console surface to group decanters, glassware, or decorative objects. The geometric metal frame provides visual structure and reflects surrounding ambient light.

Glass surfaces should be cleaned with a soft microfiber cloth and a mild glass cleaner, avoiding liquid ingress beneath the frame edge. Chrome or nickel metalwork requires a non-abrasive metal polish applied sparingly to prevent damage to the finish.
