This item is an original 1920 architectural presentation drawing produced in pen, ink and delicate watercolour on paper for the Leeds College of Art School of Architecture. The Neoclassical design displays a formal symmetrical composition featuring a central pedimented portico with Ionic columns, flanking wings with rectangular window openings, and a detailed floor plan with a grid pattern below. Tonal sepia washes create depth across the elevation and plan views, while visible signs of age include edge wear, corner losses, light creasing, and age-related toning on the paper. The sheet measures 52 cm high by 73 cm wide by 0.02 cm deep. Suitable for framing, the piece works well displayed above a sideboard in a study, library or hallway setting.

Early 20th-century architectural elevation drawings combine precise technical drafting with artistic watercolour washes to render proposed structures, frequently displaying Neoclassical and Beaux-Arts influences in their proportions and classical ornamentation.

Architectural plans from this period were typically drafted by hand using Indian ink, graphite, and monochrome watercolour washes on heavy cartridge paper, tracing linen, or vellum.

Authentic period studies feature hand-drawn drafting lines, visible graphite guidelines, handwritten annotations or student signatures, and age-consistent paper toning rather than uniform print screening dots.

These technical drawings add structured elegance to a home office, study, or hallway when framed in simple timber mouldings with acid-free mounts.

Keep original works on paper away from direct sunlight and damp environments, framing them behind UV-protective glass with conservation-grade mounting materials to prevent fading and foxing.
