Description

This very handsome and well-proportioned large antique gilt bronze picture frame features a blue velvet trim around the outside border. The back of the frame displays an ornate back rest leg with a greige-coloured velvet backing. The top of the frame showcases a curled and floral design with corner and side detailing around the outer blue rim. This lovely frame would make a fine addition to many different rooms in the home, both traditional and contemporary.

This French Empire picture frame dates from 1890 and is executed in gilt bronze with blue velvet and glass. The rectangular aperture is framed by a narrow gilt moulding and bordered by a wide band of deep blue velvet, set within an outer gilt bronze mount. Ornate gilt floral corner spandrels decorate each corner of the front border, accompanied by applied vertical torch-like side mounts.
