This mid Victorian English three hand cribbage board dates from approximately 1870 and belongs to the gentleman's library style of gaming ware. The triangular frame consists of warm brown oak veneer ornamented with inlaid bone panels depicting score tracks alongside geometric marquetry stringing borders. The construction incorporates small bun feet on the underside together with an integrated compartment to house scoring pegs when play concludes. The overall dimensions measure 2 cm high, 33 cm wide, and 33 cm deep. In a modern home, this games board finds placement upon a living room coffee table as both a functional piece for multi-player matches and an ornamental display object. The design accommodates up to three players simultaneously around the board during leisure time. The visible bone inlays contrast sharply against the dark timber while retaining an excellent condition devoid of any structural cracks, breaks, or material losses from use or storage over time.

Designed during the nineteenth century, a three-hand cribbage board features a triangular layout with three separate scoring tracks, allowing three players to compete simultaneously.

Victorian cribbage boards were crafted from fine hardwoods such as rosewood, mahogany, or walnut, frequently accented with bone, ivory, or mother-of-pearl inlays for the scoring panels.

Authentic period pieces display natural patination on the timber, hand-drilled peg holes, traditional joinery techniques, and subtle wear on the inlaid natural materials.

These decorative game boards serve as excellent tactile accents on coffee tables, study desks, or bookshelves, adding historic texture to contemporary rooms.

Store the item in a stable climate away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent timber warping, and dust gently with a soft dry cloth.
