Nine Mens Morris is a traditional board game with origins dating back to the Roman Empire and medieval Europe, frequently played as a strategy game by all social classes.

Traditional game boards and pieces were crafted from locally available hardwoods such as oak, pine, boxwood, and fruitwoods, often carved or turned by hand.

Authentic pieces exhibit signs of age-appropriate wear, hand-tool marks, traditional joinery or construction methods, and natural patina on the wood surfaces.

An antique game board can be displayed flat on a coffee table or mounted on a wall as sculptural folk art to add historical texture to a room.

Keep wooden items out of direct sunlight and maintain stable indoor humidity levels, occasionally treating the surface with neutral beeswax to preserve the finish.
