Staffordshire pottery figures were produced in the Staffordshire region of England from the mid-18th century onwards, gaining immense popularity during the Victorian era as affordable mantelpiece ornaments for the growing middle class.

These figures are typically crafted from earthenware or pottery, hand-painted with underglaze colours, and often finished with gilt highlights and distinctive crackle glazes.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit characteristic crazing in the glaze, hollow slip-cast or press-moulded construction with vent holes, and hand-painted details that show minor variations consistent with period production methods.

They can be placed on mantelpieces, bookshelves, or side tables to introduce a touch of historical character and eclectic charm to contemporary interior schemes.

Clean them gently with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, avoid using liquid cleaners or harsh chemicals, and keep them out of direct sunlight to protect the painted surface and glaze.
