FAQs

An Edwardian perpetual calendar is a desk accessory designed to be reused year after year, typically featuring rotating rollers or cards to adjust the day, date, and month.

Traditional perpetual calendars from the early 20th century were commonly crafted from solid woods such as oak and mahogany, often featuring brass fittings, bone, or card inserts.

Authentication relies on examining the construction methods, such as traditional joinery, typefaces used on the display cards, patination of the wood, and signs of genuine age and wear.

This piece can be styled as a functional desk accent in a home office or placed on a bookshelf to add texture, historic character, and tactile interest to a contemporary workspace.

Preservation involves keeping the item out of direct sunlight, avoiding excessive humidity changes, and occasionally treating the wood with appropriate microcrystalline wax to maintain the finish.
