We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Console tables originated in 17th-century France and became popular in British homes during the 18th century, traditionally designed to stand against a wall and often supported by decorative brackets or legs.

These pieces are typically constructed from dense timbers like elm or oak, utilising traditional joinery techniques such as dovetail drawers and hand-carved elements, finished with natural waxes.

Authenticity is determined by examining hand-cut joinery, timber shrinkage, period-correct hardware, and natural wear patterns consistent with age rather than artificial distress.

Pair the traditional warmth of the wood with minimalist modern lamps, abstract art, or metallic accessories to create a balanced focal point in a hallway or living space.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, applying occasional microcrystalline wax, and dusting gently with a dry, soft cloth.
