We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The James II period, spanning the late seventeenth century, marked a transition in English furniture design towards slightly lighter proportions while retaining robust construction methods and rich timber patination.

These pieces are typically constructed from solid English oak using traditional joinery methods such as mortise and tenon joints, pegged frames, and hand-sawn board tops.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the depth of the patina, tool marks left by hand-working, hand-cut joinery, shrinkage patterns in the timber, and original hardware or peg placement.

A period timber table brings warmth and texture to modern spaces when contrasted against minimalist walls, clean lines, and neutral upholstery, serving as a functional focal point.

Preserve antique oak by avoiding direct sunlight and excessive heat fluctuations, applying occasional natural wax to nourish the grain, and dusting with a dry, soft cloth.
