Antique Carved Oak Dropleaf Side Table

Description

A finely carved oak drop-leaf side table in the Elizabethan Revival style, likely Victorian. The side table features an intricately detailed back panel depicting figures and decorative motifs, dated 1603. The rectangular top has a hinged drop leaf to the front, supported by a gate-leg mechanism, and a hidden drawer to the side. Carved throughout with scrolling foliage, figures, and geometric designs, the piece stands on turned legs united by stretchers. Rich in patina and craftsmanship, this decorative table combines practical design with striking early-style carving.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition overall with gentle signs of age and use. There are some surface marks, scratches, and areas of staining and wear to the top, all typical of a piece of this age. The table remains solid, sturdy, and full of character.
