FAQs

Burr walnut features highly figured wood grain obtained from the wart-like growths on walnut trees, prized for centuries in cabinet making for its complex, swirling patterns.

These pieces typically utilise thin slices of burr walnut veneer applied to a stable secondary timber core, often combined with solid walnut for frames and hand-carved details.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the depth of the veneer, hand-cut dovetails where applicable, traditional polish types such as shellac, and natural age-related timber shrinkage.

This piece acts as a textural anchor in a contemporary scheme, pairing well with clean-lined upholstery, neutral textiles, and metallic accents to highlight the rich wood grain.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct heat sources and sunlight, dusting with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying appropriate furniture wax to nourish the finish.
