Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. FAQs

An 18th-century flintlock pistol is a muzzle-loading firearm that uses a flint-striking mechanism to ignite gunpowder and fire a projectile.

These pistols typically feature forged steel or iron barrels, wooden stocks such as walnut, brass mounts, and precious metal wire inlays.

Authenticity is identified by examining the hand-forged metal components, period-correct lock mechanisms, traditional hallmarks or regional decorative motifs, and natural age-related patination.

An antique flintlock pistol can be mounted in a shadow box or displayed on a specialized stand within a study or library to serve as a historical conversation piece.

Preservation involves maintaining a stable low-humidity environment, occasionally applying microcrystalline wax or light gun oil to metal surfaces to prevent corrosion, and avoiding harsh chemical cleaners.
