Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

FAQs

French bistro and garden tables originated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, designed for pavement cafes, public parks, and private gardens. Their folding or lightweight metal construction allowed for easy storage and durability against outdoor elements.

These tables are traditionally constructed from cast iron, wrought iron, or pressed sheet steel. They frequently feature welded or riveted joints, tubular or curved legs for stability, and perforated or solid metal tabletops.

Authentic vintage pieces exhibit genuine patination, multiple layers of flaking original paint, hand-forged or cast construction marks, and natural oxidisation rather than artificial distressing.

This piece can be integrated into contemporary spaces as an accent table in a sunroom, a compact desk, or an outdoor patio table, contrasting industrial texture with modern minimalism.

Preserve the patinated finish by applying a microcrystalline wax or clear rust-inhibitor sealant. Protect the piece from prolonged exposure to harsh winter moisture to prevent structural degradation.
