Parian ware is a type of bisquit porcelain developed in the mid-19th century in Britain, designed to imitate carved marble.

They are crafted from finely ground feldspathic porcelain slip poured into multiple-piece plaster moulds and fired at high temperatures to achieve a matte, marble-like finish.

Authentic pieces often feature crisp moulding detail, a heavy weight, a lack of surface glaze, and occasionally makers marks or registration stamps on the underside.

Position the piece on a bookshelf, mantelpiece, or desk to add a classic scholarly focal point that contrasts well with modern minimalist decor.

Dust gently with a soft, dry brush and avoid using water or chemical cleaners, as unglazed parian porcelain can easily absorb stains.
