FAQs

Treen refers to small, functional wooden domestic objects made before the widespread use of plastics and mass production, often hand-turned on a lathe.

Coasters were commonly crafted from dense, durable hardwoods such as mahogany, rosewood, oak, and occasionally fruitwoods like plum or cherry.

Authentic pieces typically display hand-turned tool marks, natural timber shrinkage, rich patina accumulated over decades, and sometimes an inset baize or leather base.

These pieces can be utilised on a sideboard or coffee table to hold small decorative items, pillar candles, or as a functional tray for glassware.

Clean gently with a dry or barely damp lint-free cloth, and periodically nourish the timber with microcrystalline wax or food-safe mineral oil to prevent drying.
