Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This walnut drinks trolley dates from the mid-century modern period of 1930 and exhibits a warm brown colour throughout its timber surfaces. The piece takes the form of a two-tier design featuring shaped handles above the upper tray, platform-style supports, and an under tier with raised gallery lips. It stands on curved brass legs fitted with white rubber castors. The trolley measures 72 cm high, 70 cm wide, and 43 cm deep. In a modern interior, this drinks trolley serves well as a practical mobile serving station for beverages in a dining room, or it fills an empty corner in a living room as a display surface for glassware and decanters. Its compact footprint ensures it fits easily into domestic spaces while offering useful storage across its two wooden levels.

FAQs

Mid-century modern drinks trolleys typically feature minimalist design lines, organic curves, functional tiering, and lightweight mobility supported by small metal or rubber castors.

Pieces from this era were primarily constructed using hardwoods like walnut, teak, or beech, often paired with brass fixtures, rubber wheel castors, and veneered tray surfaces.

Authentic mid-century trolleys display smooth joinery, sculpted organic handles, raised tray lips, original brass casters, and period-appropriate wood grain patterns rather than modern synthetic finishes.

A vintage drinks trolley can be styled as a dedicated cocktail station with glassware and decanters, positioned alongside a sofa as an side table, or used as a mobile display stand for plants and books.

Maintain wooden surfaces by wiping with a dry microfiber cloth and applying suitable wood wax periodically, while keeping the piece away from direct heat sources and lubricating wheel castors as needed.
