Woven in the early to mid-18th century, this delightful panel depicts a country scene. The foreground is dominated by a heron and a parrot surrounded by trees and foliage while in the background to the left one catches a glimpse of a stately home. The scene is calm and peaceful. The colours are lovely, including a red which lifts the whole composition and dates it to the early part of the 18th century. The borders are pretty but clearly added later, towards the end of the 19th century. The overall condition is good. Professionally cleaned and recently relined
