Country House Georgian Antique Side Table / Tea Table

18th century
Description

Country House Georgian Antique Side Table / Tea Table

Dating from ca.1800 this Country House early 19th century Georgian Antique Side Table / Tea Table is very unusual as it is made from Oak and Mahogany. It has a beautifully figured D shaped top with rounded corners. It has an oak centre with Mahogany cross banding and Rosewood banded edge along with boxwood string inlay. Below is a deep apron with fine boxwood string inlay. The legs to the rear open using a ‘gate leg’ action to fully support the opened top. The piece then becomes the ideal tea table / games table / small dining table. This fine Georgian antique table stands on turned reeded legs in the Gillows design and the piece comes with lots of lovely charm and character. The has aged to a warm medium mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of furniture wax finishing.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
