This rectangular kang / opium table comprises a solid recessed panel top, within a panel frame, above a shaped frieze, raised on moulded bow shape open panel ends, decorated with a pierced fretwork scroll carvings to the inside of the scroll feet. Ideal for use a decorative coffee table in the living room. This Chinese coffee table is well made, solid in joint and ready to use.
This low coffee table boasts a fantastic original colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This table would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially in the living room as a coffee table. Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique Chinese coffee table, constructed of solid hongmu, with a kang / opium scroll design, circa 1900, in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of this Asian coffee table, but nothing significant considering the age of the item (see photos). This oriental coffee table, has been cleaned and French polished by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop. No missing panels or carvings. The table boasts a stunning rich original colour and patination. This Chinese coffee table is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
